County Championships
For the first time, the County Championships were held at Northampton Fencing Clubs new home at Moulton College Sports Hall.
The epee was held on Saturday with all foil events and the sabre on Sunday. Of the fifteen medals available, club members won eleven with the winners trophies in all but the epee remaining within the club.

Gary Baker
Gary Baker became a member of Northampton Fencing Club in 1986 and fenced regularly at the club until he passed away in 1996.
He was a keen swordsman especially with his weapon of choice the epee, and it seemed only fitting that the club should hold a competition in his memory.

Doug Facer
Doug Facer began his fencing career in Northampton in 1949 before moving away from the area in 1952. During this time he continued to fence and upon his return to Northampton in 1962 he rejoined the club.

Challenge Shields
ach year Northampton Fencing Club runs a competition in foil, junior foil, ladies foil, sabre and epee.
These competitions are aimed at beginners and intermediate fencers but can include those who have fenced for some time.
Anyone who has represented the County, or above, or has won a competition at county level, or above, including the Gary Baker Epee or the Doug Facer foil, cannot enter.
