Committee members present, Fay Carpenter, Chris Holt, Paul Willmott, John and Lynda Norrie, Mark Bampkin, Graham Beech, Paul Drake
4 Venues were under consideration, Lings Forum, Wooldale Community Centre, Moulton College, Unity College
Question was raised regarding membership fee increases and whether it would need to increase for people who had already paid for the year or half year. FC replied that members had already paid for fencing until the middle of July (end of school term) and that the club would cover any increase until then. As we would now be fencing throughout the summer costs for half July and August would need to be looked at as a separate issue this year.
Questions were also raised as to whether other venues had been looked at and their availability on other nights. This was answered jointly by committee members with the answer that whilst other nights and venues had been looked at it had been decided it was better to try and keep the club meets on a Thursday night.
Sheet covering each of the venues and their advantages and disadvantages was given to each of the members, and general questions taken. These were answered to the best of their knowledge by CH, MB, FC as the principle people who had visited the most number of venues when researching the topic.
Question from the floor regarding why a new venue was being looked at. It was answered that the current venue (Old KPMS site) would be closed by xmas 2005 and the club would be in this position again by then, being forced to find a new venue.
John Rigby then mentioned that he felt that Wooldale would be an excellent venue as it was close to the M1, was a new venue and had a large age range of children and community for the club to obtain new members from.
Keith Eyres then asked how many of the venues had been visited and who had visited. FC,CH,MB replied that all the venues had been visited by a number of members of both the committee and members of the club. Some on a number of occasions. He followed this question by asking FC how she had calculated the prices for each of the venues.
FC explained to the club that she had calculated prices for each of the venues based upon current member numbers and the cost of the new venue, not taking into account any extra for replacing club equipment. And that she felt whichever venue was chosen would mean that the membership fee for that venue would be taken as being accepted by the club. The membership was asked if anyone had any problems with this course of action. No one raised any objections.
After approximately 50 minutes of questions a vote was taken on each of the venues results as follows :
| Wooldale Community Centre |
0 Votes |
| Unity College |
0 Votes |
| Lings Forum Leisure Centre |
0 Votes |
| Moulton College |
19 votes |
1 member abstained from voting
In light of the results it was decided to investigate the earliest date NFC could move to Moulton College as the new venue. Committee members to contact Moulton ASAP.
FC reiterated that as Moulton had been chosen the membership amount as calculated, ie adult members £120 a year and children £70, would be the membership fee in September.
Meeting closed.
